Ensemble productions focus on the development of the actor through the production process. Each project features a healthy dose of instruction at the onset before moving into rehearsals for the workshop production. Ensemble productions are scaled back to keep the emphasis on the process, with actors taking an active role in the development of the production's set, costumes, lighting and/or props. They are performed free of charge as a community service, and are opened to the public.

Teen Improv Troupe

SPRING 2020

DCP’s new Teen Improv Troupe is geared for teens that are dedicated, disciplined, and passionate about comedy and acting! Taught by our local instructor who trained at The Second City, the world’s premier improvisation troupe! We promote a curriculum that teaches the methods of improv, with emphasis on character building, teamwork, communication and self-esteem. This course helps students learn what it takes to create comedic scenes on the spot, all while making friends and laughing. We’ll use special exercises and games designed to work on teamwork, accepting and celebrating mistakes, thinking faster, enhancing listening skills, playing, and having fun! After the course, the students will showcase their new skills in a graduation performance for the community. We’ll be starting from the basics, so no previous improv experience necessary.
