Youth Ensemble Classes: Musicals and Straight Plays

DAVIDSON ELEMENTARY STUDENTS ONLY

Act your way to center stage in this show-stopping theatre class! Students will have a blast learning the skills of theatre through play & development. Actors will explore scenes and music and learn how to use their body and voice to create fun characters! Our Broadway stars will create a showcase to perform at the end of the class for family and friends! This class is offered for FREE thanks to a grant through the Arts & Science Council!

Ensemble productions focus on the development of the actor through the production process.  Each project features a healthy dose of instruction at the onset before moving into rehearsals for the workshop production.  Ensemble productions are scaled back to keep the emphasis on the process, with actors taking an active role in the development of the production’s set, costumes, lighting and/or props. They are performed free of charge as a community service, and are opened to the public. Scripts will be assigned to ensembles based on the students in them.

Looking to take your musical theatre skills to the next level? Join us in DCP's Advanced PreTeen Musical Theatre Class. This class is an intensive for preteens looking to train seriously in the art of singing, acting and dancing. The class will meet every Thursday and two Saturdays a month and culminate in a performance for family and friends.
