Marijuana, Mayhem, …and MURDER!
Inspired by the 1936 propaganda film of the same name, this raucous musical comedy takes a tongue-in-cheek look at the hysteria caused when clean-cut kids fall prey to the Devil’s Lettuce, leading them on a hysterical downward spiral filled with sex, violence, and jazz music.
This project brings together some of the region’s most talented musical theatre performers in a unique experience that blends the theatricality of musical theatre, the immersion of audience participation, and the unmitigated chaos of JUST ONE WEEK of rehearsals! With piano accompaniment and options for cabaret style seating, this is an intimate theatrical experience that you'll remember for decades and even tell your grandkids about. After all, someone has to warn them of the horrors of the Wacky Weed!
This production is happy to partner with local business Maui Boyz to provide the audience with a better understanding of the products available in their community and answer the questions that you're too afraid to ask.
Content Warnings: Moderately accurate simulated drug use, incredibly unrealistic simulated violence, and ridiculously simulated sexy time. Not recommended for anyone under age 16 or your Southern Baptist mom.
