Midday Movement
with Michelle Medina Villalon
Wednesdays 11:30am-12:30pm
Feb 18 - Apr 22
Need to ground yourself during a stressful week at work? Midday Movement is a new version of our popular Wake Up with Acting class that encourages adults of all skill levels to explore the freedom and joy of using your body in the midst of an otherwise rigid or sedentary day. Think of it as a theatre yoga class!
Pulling from different methodologies (Viewpoints, Laban, Meyerhold) and theatre games, Midday Movement will focus on the following skills:
Actor warm-ups
Spontaneity and physical freedom
Ensemble collaboration
Physicality with monologues
TIMES: The course will take place on Wednesdays from 11:30am to 12:30pm from Feb 18 - Apr 22, with 2 sessions off at the discretion of the class.
EXPERIENCE: Open to all skill levels.
REFUND POLICY: Class tuition will be refunded in full up to 7 days prior to the class start date. Refunds will not be granted after the deadline.
ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR: Michelle Medina Villalon (she/her) is a director, intimacy professional, and playwright based in Charlotte. She holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Catawba College and completed her intimacy training with Theatrical Intimacy Education. Michelle has had the privilege of working with local companies like Three Bone Theatre, Lee Street Theatre in Salisbury, and of course, Davidson Community Players! Her play, Mythos, was presented at the Southeastern Theatre Conference in Lexington, KY in 2023. Mythos was also accepted into OdysseyStage’s play development pipeline program in 2025. Michelle is an active writer, currently serving as the Theatre editor for Cultural Voice North Carolina, an online arts publication. When she’s not working on or near the stage, Michelle is an avid podcast listener, horror movie fanatic, and mediocre runner.
