Wednesdays 6:30-8:30pm
Sept 8 - Oct 27
This 8-week class covers the building blocks of improv - how to listen, how to build a scene with a partner, how to get out of your head and stay present. The first 5 weeks lay the fundamentals in a supportive, no-pressure room. The final 3 weeks open into full improv games, where you'll play alongside a few experienced improvisers who join just for the final stretch.
You don't need to be funny. You don't need experience. You just need to show up and say yes, and.
TIMES: The course will take place on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:30pm from Sep 8 - Oct 27.
EXPERIENCE: Open to all skill levels.
REFUND POLICY: Class tuition will be refunded in full up to 7 days prior to the class start date. Refunds will not be granted after the deadline.
ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR: Amy Quilala has spent over a decade teaching, coaching, and performing improv across the country. She trained at the Second City Conservatory in Chicago and served as the Training Center Director at The Comedy Project in Grand Rapids. She has taught and coached improv at every level, from youth theater to university business classes. She currently performs on house teams at Comedy Arts Theater of Charlotte and with DCP's Tuesday Night Live sketch ensemble.
