Owning the Audition

$180.00

with Allison Rerecich

Sundays 6-8pm
Mar 29 - Apr 26

Auditioning can be scary, confusing, hyper-competitive, and a skill entirely distinct from acting in a play or musical. It requires its own technique!

In this 4-part class, face your auditioning fears in a supportive environment with fellow actors. Whether you’re brand new to auditioning or someone who’s attended dozens over the years, this course will get you primed for your next call.

This class will cover:

  • The art of a “cold read”

  • How to choose "the right monologue"

  • Memorization

  • Basics of script analysis, action, and given circumstances

  • Mastering the psychology of the audition

  • Overcoming mental roadblocks

TIMES: The course will take place on Sundays from 6:00 to 8:00pm from Mar 29 - Apr 26, with 1 session off at the discretion of the class.

EXPERIENCE: Open to all skill levels.

REFUND POLICY: Class tuition will be refunded in full up to 7 days prior to the class start date. Refunds will not be granted after the deadline.

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR: Allison Rerecich began training in acting and singing at age nine in New York and performed at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall before graduating high school. She studied Musical Theatre at various schools before graduating from the Long Island High School for the Arts.  Allison earned her degree in Drama from Hofstra University while studying and auditioning in NYC. Her professional training includes (but is not limited to) Shakespeare at London’s RADA, Meisner at The Neighborhood Playhouse, on-camera and scene study at AMAW in NYC and Los Angeles, and extensive audition workshops with casting directors in Musical Theatre and TV/Film. Allison has worked as both an actor and as a writer, director, and producer. As an instructor,  Allison is enthusiastic and compassionate, eager to leave you inspired not only with the work itself but by who you discover yourself to be through participating in it.
