About us
Davidson
Community Players has been producing theatre since 1965
and responded to the need for live theater for children
ages 5 to 11 with the creation of The Connie Company in
1996. The Connie Company, an outreach of Davidson Community
Players, provides shows in both the winter and summer to
children and their families. Its summer productions are
held in town halls in Davidson, Huntersville, and Cornelius.
Winter productions are held in Davidsons Town Hall
during Christmas in Davidson and in the Black Box of the
Cunningham Fine Arts Building on the campus of Davidson
College.
The Connie Company summer shows are the
culmination of a two-week, 42-hour dramatic workshop for
teenagers under the direction of Melissa Ohlman Roberge, artistic director of the Connie Company. The Connie Company is
named in honor of Constance Welch, founder of Davidson Community
Players and the Tarradiddle Players.
